Establishing a brand identity in a new country calls for some pretty bold ideas. Such was the challenge when Tricon Restaurants International, formally PRI, was called upon to support the development of a new Taco Bell in Kingston, Jamaica.
Having already established a new international image, which had been successfully executed in remodel programs in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the next logical step was the development of a new ground up prototype.
Bold colors, inside and out, upgraded ceilings, floor, and a new Marmoleum finish with the Taco Bell logo etched into the material brought a contemporary look to its southwest heritage. The project was so well received that it was awarded the best new restaurant award for 1997.
